This pen triggers off a super loud bang when the top is pulled off.

Get the victim to draw an "x" on a paper and you'll show him a trick.
This will distract him from the pen.

You can pull of the "Double Gotcha" trick with the exploding pen or the shock pen. You need a piece of paper and pencil and of course the trick pen of choice. Draw a simple large boat hull on the paper with wavy lines to represent the water line. Above the water line on the side of the boat, draw three lines parallel to the water line and spaced equally, going up the side of the boat. Number the lines 1, 2 and 3 with 1 being closest to the water line. Present this drawing to the victim and explain that there is a boat in the harbor at low tide. At high tide, the water will come up 3 feet. Give the victim the trick pen and ask him to make an "x" on the line where the water level will be. This simple puzzle will distract the victim from the exploding or shocking pen. Focusing on the puzzle, the victim will pull the cap off the exploding pen and BAM!

Okay, sorry about the trick pen you tell the victim, but back to the water line, make an "x" with this pencil. Most of the time the victim will mark the line numbered 3. So then you ask them, what if the water comes up 10 feet -- does it go over the top of the boat? Of course the boat floats so the water line remains the same all the time, regardless of the tide. If they mark anything but the water line, they're mistaken.
